A Little Bit About Meditation

 An introduction to meditation

Meditation is the practice of focusing the mind on a particular subject, place, or thing that brings forth desired outcomes such as awareness, mindfulness, and clarity.

My first introduction to meditation came way of my explorations in Buddhism when I was 16. Buddhism was the first religious philosophy I started learning about and putting into practice outside of the one I was brought up into. I didn't think it was weird to learn about other religions because I had also been learning about Greco-Roman mythology in my 10th grade English class. But Buddhism was definitely my first deep dive into other belief systems.

I resonated a lot with Buddhist teachings, practices, and ways of life, the first being meditation and why meditation is a fundamental part of their religion. Buddhism teaches meditation as a tool to achieve a state of nirvana, a state of higher consciousness and freedom from samsara ( the never-ending cycle of life and death ).

This practice dates back as far as 5000 BCE and since been seen in ancient Egypt, China, India, Ecuador, and later United States. Meditation popularized itself in the United States in the 1960s and 70s by music group The Beetles, Indian gurus, yogis, and Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda. Other religions that practice meditation are Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Voudou.

Besides the spiritual aspect of meditating, medical studies have shown that meditation has benefits on both the mind and body. Meditation can reduce anxiety, stress, increase mental clarity, improve the immune system, help with memory loss and the brains' ability to remember, and even helps to manage and control pain in the body. In recent years more and more medical physicians are recommending meditation as a part of integrative medicine treatment.

Practical Application

Let's start with a simple and very general way of how to begin your meditation process.

First, you want to prepare your space. This is different for everyone as I like to tidy up a little bit and get some fresh air flowing into the house. I light candles and incense sticks and begin to start seeing intention in my mind. Make sure that you are in a place where you won't be disturbed for 15 minutes. When I started meditating I think I started at about 10 minutes and worked my way to 30 minutes then eventually an hour. You will want to grab a floor cushion or some pillows, maybe even some blankets if that will make you more comfortable.

Now you want to get in your meditative position. Sit on the floor with your legs crossed with your hand placed on your knees facing up towards the sky.

Close your eyes and begin to focus on your breath as you breathe inhale and exhale. Your mind might begin to trail off many times in the beginning but your goal is to bring your focus back to center and focus on your breathing. Try and visualize in your mind's eye a place of serenity, peace, and wholeness.

Stay in this mental state for your time allotted and when you are done simply open your eyes when you are ready.

Doing this regularly will have beneficial outcomes on your mood, perspective, and energy levels. As you learn more about meditation you will find out there is a lot more to meditation than just this. Down below is a list of many other ways to meditate.

10 Ways To Meditate

Some of these meditation techniques take time and many years of practice to achieve. There is always a higher level of consciousness that is attainable. So give yourself time and patience when trying new ways to meditate.

1. Visualization

In meditation, you can use your mind's eye to create safe spaces and focus your attention on objects and even scenarios. This strengthens your ability to manifest outcomes because you have already visualized yourself in this state of reality. You can visualize your happy place or reimagine a place that makes you feel happy and at peace. This technique will take you through all the other techniques and is the first technique you would want to master on your journey.

2. Breath-work

While learning to visualize you can begin to incorporate breath-work into your meditation by simply staying aware of your lungs inhaling and exhaling. As you exhale rid yourself of negative ideas and thoughts. Inhaling positivity and other high vibrational thoughts. This brings more oxygen into your lungs allowing easier blood flow and circulation. Breathwork can also help you learn how to focus your mind, developing your meditation skills.

3. Sound

If you live in a large city like me you will likely hear sirens, kids playing outside, and the occasional party next door. Help drown out some of the noise and mind chatter by playing music. I like listening to African drumming, shamanic drums, sound bowls, meditation music, and sometimes high-frequency sounds for chakras on Spotify or Youtube. This helps to set the mood and bring more healing loving vibes to the room. Listening to music or sounds can amplify your meditation by raising your vibration and stimulate thought patterns.

 4. Prayer

Meditation can also be done by focusing your mind on god or spirit to communicate desires, confessions, or petition for help. Along with communicating through prayer, you can use bible scriptures to worship or show praise and gratitude. Scriptures can be memorized repeated out loud in contemplative prayer for answers and guidance. This is also a form of divination.

5. Divination

Divination is the act of receiving information through higher consciousness and other energies, spirits, higher powers, gods, and goddesses. In meditation it is often we need answers for life situations we may be going through. During meditation is the time to get those answers. Try focusing on a certain problem and asking for divine intervention or instruction. Sometimes meditating on a problem can bring clarity to the situation as well.

6. Spirit Guide

Find your spirit guide through meditation! This is also a form of divination so this is a conversation, a petition where listening is key. Ask your spirit guides to appear to you in meditation and dreams. Allow them to guide you through your mind and the astral world. This is when it is okay in meditation to allow your mind to wander but still focusing on the visualization.

7. Chakra

Balance your chakras with meditation. Sit in your meditative position and visualize your first chakra the root chakra in the form of a glowing red ball of light at the base of your spine. Visualize the next chakra, the sacral chakra, as a glowing orange ball of light and do this for all the chakras. When you reach the crown chakra you may repeat this visualization and envision this rainbow of colors and energy charging you up and filling you with the sense of alignment.

8. Dance

In many African religions such as Vou Dou from Benin and Hoo Doo in parts of the Caribbean and Latin America, dance is used as a form of meditation to commune with ancestors. Using drums and anecdotal songs, people call their ancestors by dancing to petition and honor them. This is similar to contemplative prayer where the meditators can go into a trance by chanting scriptures.

9. Astral Travel

For someone far more advanced in meditation, astral travel may seem like an interesting and exciting way to meditate.

Although I see astral travel as more of a result of meditating to astral travel rather than a way to meditate because astral travel is pretty much only attainable through meditation. If you know another way let me know in the comments.

Astral travel or astral projection is when the astral body and the physical body separate allowing the meditator to travel the astral world. This meditation can be done in your meditative position on the floor, this way the body can feel grounded after the astral body returns. This may take some years of practice and discipline but I’m going to spill the beans.

Go into your standard meditation where you feel the most relaxed and connected to your inner spirit. See your physical body with your eyes clothed and see and envision what you may come to see as your astral body. Two different parts of you, one in the physical world and one in the astral world where you typically go to meditate. Allow your astral body to let go of any earthly bonds, and see yourself floating gently away from your physical body, gliding into the darkness of your mind and the other world that is the infinite universe.

There is so much to say here and I am open to questions about this. Let me know in the comments if you feel like you need more information on this subject. When ready, simply release your breath and float back down into your physical body feeling for your toes and fingers and arms and legs. Open your eyes slowly.

    10. Psychic

I am particularly excited to share this last piece on meditation because I reached out to an expert in developing psychic abilities, Sabrina Von Stock, a medium and energy healer. Sabrina specializes in helping people understand their past lives and has developed her own abilities through the help of regular meditation practice. Below is a written piece by Sabrina Von Stock "Sitting in the Power".

"Sitting in the power“ is a foundational meditation that helps enhance psychic and mediumship abilities. This meditation was developed by the late Gordon Higginson, who was principal teacher at the Arthur Findlay College, which is the modern-day Hogwarts in England.

The meditation is very simple. You sit in a chair, feet firmly on the floor, eyes closed, and hands in your lap. I suggest you set a timer for 10-15 minutes and see how long you can just sit without looking at your phone or fidgeting. How long can you sit in total stillness? You’ll find that your mind wants to wander and tell you about the grocery list or the conversation you had with a friend.

The key is to master quieting and slowing down your mind, so you can connect with spirit.
Concentrate on your breathing, count to 4 when you inhale and exhale. Challenge yourself and see how long you can be still. At first, it’s not going to be easy, but after a while, the desire to sit in stillness will grow and the benefits of this meditation is invaluable!

Here are just some of the benefits:
You start to become aware of yourself as a soul being.
You enter into deeper connection with your higher self and subconscious mind.
It allows your vibration to become higher as your own energy becomes lighter.
You can receive amazing downloads from spirit.
I have found that it helps in dealing with the daily stresses of everyday life.
And of course, the amazing insights you can receive
Before you know it, you will begin to notice how your own natural mediumistic and psychic abilities start to flourish!"

And there you have it! 10 ways to meditate for beginners and experienced meditators.

Try one of these meditation practices and let me know what your experience was in the comments below.

What is your unique meditation practice look like? Do you find meditation to be helpful in anyways I have not mentioned here? Let me and everyone else know!

How to Charge Magical Tools, Crystals, and More.

Activate your magical tools and crystals by charging them so you can use them at their optimal vibration and frequency.

Cleansing and consecrating items before charging.

It is always wise to make sure you cleanse, consecrate, and charge all items that you are going to be using in any kind of magical or spiritual work. Doing these simple things will bring positive energy and results to any of your spell work and ritual practices. If you are coming across this blog without prior knowledge of how to go about cleansing and consecrating your items please go back now and read the last two blogs from this series Energy Cleansing and Make It Sacred then proceed in reading this post that provides information and a how to guide on charging your items.

What is the purpose of charging items?

So you have cleansed your items and even spent time consecrating them and are now wondering if it is really necessary to charge them on top of everything you just did. Yes, yes you do. Where is it important to cleanse your items of negative energy it is thus as important to charge your items with positive energy that programs the items for your intended use. This is not the same as consecrating an item. A consecration is done in practice to transform physical items into those that we can use in the magical realm. Where as charging your items in like programing them for a specific use.

What kind of items can you charge?  Can you charge your body?

The most common items that people charge are crystals, altar tools, talismans, sigals, and good lucks charms, though you can charge a lot more. You yourself are an energy conduit and need to recharge your energy when feeling drained, mentally exhausted, or in need of grounding. In the spiritual Japanese tradition they call this chi or life force. You can use your chi or life force energy to charge and balance your chakras. I will soon be having a series all about chakras and chakra healing so let me know if you have any questions about that in the comment and I'll make sure to answer them in one of my up coming post.

Here is a list of ways to charge items and magical tools.

    1. Sunlight

I like charging most things in the sun just like I like a good lay in on the beach on a sunny day. Sun power is one the strongest energizer we have at our disposal. Lay your favorite crystals in the sun to activate their powerful energies. The longer the better works best for me but use your own discretion. I also often brew myself up some delicious sun tea as well. Yummmy!

    1. Moonlight

Making moon water is a fun past time that any witch would tell you to try. I tend to keep some moon water at my altar and in the bathroom. I like using it in my bath for full moon and new moon rituals. I make one batch of new moon water on the dark moon of the month and full moon water on the day the moon is at its fullest and three days after that. You can also use moon water at a moon deities altar as offering. Grab a cleansed and consecrated mason jar, fill it up with spring water and sit in under the moon at sunset or right after. In the morning take this water and sit it at the altar for one more day. You can use this same general method for other items.

    1. Altar

If you already have an altar in place you can go ahead and use this as a general energy source in your house. There are however certain items I like to charge here. I like to charge items like my mala beads, wands, coins, mojo bags, jewelry things that need that wholesome altar energy. If you have an ancestral altar you can charge and offer familiar items of the ones past. This is also so for deity altars as well.

    1. Music/ Vibrations

I love a sound bath. If you haven’t had a sound bath you absolutely have to get one or at least find a good one on youtube and meditate to it for at least 30 minutes. Your mind will be blown away! Anyway, yes! You can use music or vibrations to charge items or program them to certain frequencies. You can find all kinds playlist dedicated to frequency on Youtube or Spotify.

    Try this sound bath.

    1. Air

Using the elements to charge items is another way to go about charging items. Charging things with air can be a little bit more allusive than the other elements just because of the general nature of air. So I would recommend something like smoke or incense so you can see or smell aromas in the room. I would use this method to empower or charge  an area rather than an item. Filling a room with different aromas that correspond with your intentions. Essentials oils and incenses can brighten the overall feeling of a rooms I would start here. I just personally prefer using smoke to cleanse small items and scents to charge rooms in the home or business with a certain intention.

    1. Water

Water can used to cleanse and charge. I like using ocean water or rain water to charge items. Using the first rain of a season is good for charging items like plants that you brought into your house to bring warmth and life. You can leave your items in a container of magic waters keeping them in there over night. Try drinking some moon water to empower and boost your own energy therein charging yourself with the power of the moon.

    1. Fire

Let me first start by saying, please don’t burn your self, be very careful. You can light candles to charge your intentions this way. This is an entire series of its own as well. Fire magic is more than burning old pictures and letters. Let me know if fire magic is something you practice often or want to know more about it in the comments.

    1. Earth

Just go ahead a bury it. Put it in a box, dig a whole and bury it. Charge your items in the earths crust and get this earth energy. The earth is a large resource to us, take advantage of her abundance and honor her.

    1. Dance

Empower your chi with dance. Put on some good tunes and get some friction going! Dancing to drums to stir up cosmic energy is an African tradition practiced today. Stir up cosmic energy and harness it to empower you intentions and your body.

    1. Spell

Cast a spell to charge items as well. Some people might be familiar with the charge of the goddess in the Wiccan tradition already. Write your on spell to charge any items you need.

Give your self a chance to try something new you haven’t tried before and don’t worry if you have only tried one method and are sticking to it for now. Don’t fix what ain't broke but don’t knock till you try!

This is the end of the first mini blog series that discusses energy. I think this prior knowledge will aid in future understanding of practices from around the world that I would like to discus and talk about.

    Happy Charging!

Make It Sacred | 5 Ways To Consecrate

    Consecration

Having a Christian upbringing and background I recall taking communion many times after the church service was over. I would drag my mother to the altar where few of the church members were gathering. We  would then wait for the consecration of bread and wine. If you are not familiar with this rite, in the Christian Methodist and many other secs of Christianity bread and wine is prayed over and blessed, doing so turning the bread and wine into the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ. I'll be honest, as a child I would just be so hungry by the time church was over that bread and wine, well,  grape juice, was extremely appetizing. I would often ask my mother. " If the bread and wine were infact the body and blood of Jesus Christ why does it still look like bread and wine?". She would sometimes wave the question off and give me a simple but vague answer, other times she would reinstate that the bread and wine was in fact the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ. If only I knew then what I know now, that I would use the magical power of consecration for the rest of my life.

So, let's back up a little bit. Consecration is the act of declaring something to be sacred. Sacred objects are not restricted to the laws of the physical world but are limitless in their energetic potential. All objects are of two things, one part physical matter, and one part metaphysical  energy. When a consecration ritual is performed the energy of the item is manipulated or transmuted into another form of metaphysical energy. This process is called transubstantiation.

As a magic practitioner and energy worker a consecration ritual is something I perform in my practice quite often. I perform consecration rituals on items I plan to use for spell work, healing, and divination. You do not need to be a seasoned practitioner to preform a consecration ritual, however, I would encourage research and discretion when doing any kind of energy or magical work. Sacred items someone may want to consecrate include altars, sacred spaces, altar items, spiritual tools like athames, bowls, grimoires,  crystals, candles, cauldrons, divination tools like tarot cards, runes... etc. etc.

       5 Way to Consecrate

    *Disclaimer*
Prior to preforming a consecration an energy cleanse is recommended. Check out my post on How Todo an Energy Cleanse to find out more on this subject. https://www.themagicaltar.com/2020/04/energycleansing.html

    1. Prayer or a spell
Prepare a pray or spell with your sacred intention in mind. After you have cleansed the object say your pray or spell over the object.

    2. Meditation
Visualize your object as is. Imagine your intention as a ball of luminous energy. Allow this energy to fuse with your object until you can visualize your item with a higher and limitless vibration surrounding it.

    3. Sacred tools
You can use already blessed or consecrated items such as  holy water, intention oils, sacred herbs, and crystals. For water and oil take a moment to form your intention and  place a few drops on your item. Herbs can be burned for their smoke or rubbed on to the item. Crystals can be left to together overnight with your items or until you are pleased with the transference of energy.

    4. Energy of the elements
Gather one part fire, one part water, one part air, and one part earth. Direct the energy of the  4 elements by infusing their energy into your object through meditation, spell, or pray.

    5. Blessing from a God or Goddess
If you are consecrating a tool or object in relation to a particular god or goddess you may ask the god or goddess for the blessing upon the object through pray, worship, sacrifice, or meditation. I suggest an offering for the god or goddess. Working with deities requires research, so do some good research and nurture you relationship with your gods and goddess.

How do you like to consecrate your items? What items have you consecrated before? Is consecration apart of your practice? Write me in the comments and subscribe to The Magic Altar!

    Happy Consecrating!

    What is Energy?

    What is Energy?

Energy is a general term used to describe the overall vibration and frequency of matter.

All forms of matter absorb and exude energy. Different types of matter have different energy vibrations. People and objects can have multiple vibrations going on at the time. This contributes to the overall energy of the person and/or object.

    Vibration

Everything vibrates. Nothing is still. You vibrate, thoughts vibrate, stones vibrate; everything is in constant vibration.

    Example:

There are two rooms, we will call them room one and room two. Room one is a young child celebrating their birthday with their friends and family. Room two, is a funeral that’s full of people mourning and grieving.

Imagine walking into room one and feeling the joy and happiness of celebrating life and abundance.

Then imagine yourself leaving this room and walking into room two where a funeral prossesion is going and the people that fill the room is missing the deceased.

How does that room feel now? Probably very different than room one.

This is an example of a drastic change in energy. In these rooms there are people exuding different types of vibrations varying from happiness, joy, sadness, grief, and maybe some confusion. Change of environment or situation can also either directly or indirectly impact our own energy fields.

    Frequency

Frequency is a measurement of how high or low we are vibrating. Emotion is one of the easiest things to measure within ourselves because as humans our mind translates emotion into language, therefore making it easier for us. None the less, emotions vibrate.

    Example:

Scenario one, we have applied for a position that is going to ultimately lead to the position of our dreams. We get a phone call and the person on the other end lets us know, we got the job! You’re thinking “ Yes! This is awesome, I’ve always wanted to have opportunity, blah blah blah, super happy.” Scenario two, this time we have applied for our dream job, like end all be all of jobs. We get a phone call and to our extreme delight the person on the other end lets us know, we got the job! Now your thinking, “No freaking way! I cant even believe it!, like are you even serious? I think I’m gonna cry because I’m so happy, I’m over the moon.”

In both of these scenes we are clearly very happy about getting the jobs we wanted. But one of those jobs, we were a little happier to get. The change in our happiness is a dictation of change in frequency. Think about this vibration on a scale of 1-10. Actually, better yet, on a scale from -10 to +10 . -10 being the unhappiest we have ever been and +10 being the happiest we have ever been. You see, happiness is the same as unhappiness. The frequency and level of our happiness is what changes.

I hope this post has answered a few questions about what energy is and how we are deeply connected to the energy around us.

Please let me know in a comment if you have ever experienced energy changes in terms of vibration and frequency.

    Energy Cleansing

    CLEANSE

    WHAT?

“ What is energy cleansing?”. I get asked this question a lot. Energy cleansing is the act of ridding old, unwanted, or negative energy from a space, object or your body. Just about anything can be cleansed, your body, mind, house, spiritual tools, old jewelry , water vessels, crystals, altar spaces, books and more. Energy cleanings are also called ritual cleansing, spiritual cleansing, ritual purification, and smudging.

    WHY?

When unwanted/negative energy has accumulated over a period of time this energy can begin to affect your physical energy, concentration, mental clarity, emotional and spiritual balance, and overall sense of well-being. There are many reason you might want to try an energy cleanse. Maybe an unpleasant event happened in the house or space you currently occupy and feel like the space just needs to be cleared out. Maybe you have had a long week at work, your mind is cluttered with innumerable interactions with people and just feel emotionally and mentally drained. You can even cleanse small objects like jewelry from an ex-spouses or lovers that now represent a bad memory. The possibilities are literally endless.

    HOW?

These methods are for you to choose from with your own discretion. When preforming any kind of energy work always remember to have an intention in mind. Visualize the end result in your minds eye, be in the moment and just focus on the cleansing ritual you are preforming.

10 WAY TODO AN ENERGY CLEANSE

    1. WATER

Water is always my first option for anything I want cleanse. Water removes dirt, impurities and germs  so if you don’t get your items wet use this method. Before you start wash your hands with soap and water. Make this a habit for any cleansing rituals listed below. You can use water from your tap, I sometimes like using bottled spring water or water out of a purifier. If you are near a lake, ocean, river or any body of water you can collect a cup or so and store it and use that in this ritual as well. Pour some water in a bowl, or run your tap and cleanse your item gently in the water. Use your favorite natural soap if you want it extra clean or if you have an stubborn areas on you object. Set your intention, visualize the end result that this item will be rid of all negative/ unwanted energy, and focus your mind at the task at hand. After you feel the item is sufficiently clean take a moment to look at your newly cleansed item.

    2. SMOKE

One of my favorite ways to cleanse my space is with smoke. Smoke can be calming, fragrant and change the rooms vibration very quickly . There are many products you can purchase from a local spiritual shop, health food store and sometimes small corner stores. These products include sage herb and flower bundles, oil infused incense and wood sticks like Pablo santo. Do some research in your neighborhood, see what you can find and what resonates with you the most. All these items require some kind of burning and stifling of the fire to create smoke. You might need to also purchase an incense holder or fire safe container depending on what you might have picked up. Set your intention before you burn you chosen items. Stifle the fire and as the embers continue to burn pass the items you wish to cleanse through the smoke. If you are burning something like sage or palo santo you can put them in a fire safe container and take them around your home or sacred space. Always setting your intention very clearly, visualizing and focusing on your ritual.

    3. CANDLES

Ahh, candles...You can use candles of different colors, aromas and dressings to change the vibrations and frequency in order todo a cleansing. This can actually be very beautiful if you put in a little time and effort. Gather a few candles or one large candle. Make sure it smells like something that brings you joy and happiness. If you choose todo a colorful assortment of colors pick colors that resonate with you intention same as with the scent or herbal dressing of the candle you chose. So gather your candles, I always you a black and white candle, black banishes negative and bad energy while white brings peace and gratitude, set your intention, visualize the end result, and burn these candle until you need to go to sleep or if able burn them through the night in safe place. I recommend using this method for spaces, not so much individual items as it may not be wise to use fire in ways of passing the item through the flame and such, this is to be avoided for safety precautions.

    4. CRYSTALS

Crystals are not only absolutely stunning but are also very powerful. Every crystal gives off their own unique energy frequency and vibration. This method may require a little research on your own if you are new to using crystals, they’re a lot of crystals. Let me know if you want to more information about them in the comments as it is a very large subject and get asked questions about them all the time. For the sake of my fingers I am going to suggest a single crystal that is widely accessible, clear crystal quartz. Clear crystal quartz can be used to set any intention. They are sold in many sizes which is amazing for us because we can carry them in your pocket, put them in baths, or find one large enough to be center pieces on large tables in sacred spaces. Whatever you choose to get for your self, a cleansing ritual must be done on the crystal before using it. After cleansing your crystals with one of the methods here, it is important to set your intention upon the crystal, this is also be called consecrating. Try just sitting with your crystal for sometime replaying you intention in your head a few times. After this, charge them by putting them out in the sunlight for a full day or set them out by moonlight overnight. Your crystals is now ready to use for your cleansing needs.

    5. MEDITATION

Your mind is the most powerful tool you have. Meditation is the first step in learning to control your perception, ideas, and thoughts. If you are new to meditation, or have been meditating a very long, you can preform this energy cleansing. Find a quiet place in your home where you will not be disturbed. Hopefully this place is peaceful and serene. If its not find that place in your mind for this exercise. Think of the item or space you would like to cleanse, maybe you brought it with you to this place or maybe you are sitting in the space you wish to cleanse. Find your focus and visualize the item, see it as it is in your minds eye. Maybe its dirty, a bit rusted or warped. As your imagination allows you, now see this item  recreate itself something new and dazzling. Sit and replay your this visualization a few times or until you feel the item or spaces is cleansed and anew.

    6. SALT

Salt has have been used for hundreds years in purification rituals around the world. This works best for small individual items. Get a small bowl that fits your item perfectly. You don’t want it to be too big because you don't want to use more salt than you really need to, and you don't want it to be too small because you want to be able to cover your item all the way. All you have todo is put a bed of salt into the bowl, put your item in the bowl, then cover it completely with the salt. If there isn’t a lot of salt, you can also do a salt rub. Take the item in your hand pour about a teaspoon to a table spoon of salt in the other hand and rub them together. If you choose todo the bowl method you can leave it in the bowl for 30-60 minutes. Focus, focus, focus.

    7. ESSENTIAL OILS

Oils can be extremely luxurious. This is another large topic and may require more research. This form of energy cleansing can also be called anointing. Grab a few of your favorite essential oils, I like rose, lavender, and jasmine. Pure essences used on the skin need to be diluted with a carrier oil, olive oil, sunflower oil, jojoba oil, grape seed oil etc... using a 1 to 5 ratio. Prepare your oils. I like to start my day with this kind of cleansing ritual. Dab a few drops on your wrist, neck, ankle, back of the knee, and inside the elbow. Set your intention here and take a moment to breathe in the oils. All day the aroma with remind you of your intention.

    8. HERBAL TEA

Another way to cleanse is with herbal teas. Think of this as also a digestive cleanse as well. Sometimes an internal cleanse is what we are truly craving. So after a day of eating garbage or a week in some cases, this is the perfect opportunity try a herbal tea cleanse. Choose your herbs, I will suggest senna. Senna is a natural laxative and will flush the bowels and is also and is used to stimulate the metabolic system. Use about a teaspoon in a water infusion. Let your tea steep for 10-15 minutes while covered. We do not want any volatile oils escaping our little brew. While it steeps set an intention to cleanse the body of any unwanted toxins. Try do this when you don’t have anywhere to go.

    9. SPIRITUAL BATH

I have been accused of taking too many baths! I love baths! Love, love, love! I take a spiritual bath about once a week. The truth is they are extremely relaxing and much needed. These bath can be very simple or very extravagant, and can be combined with other cleansing rituals. You can add essential oils, flower petals, salt, bath bomb, its an endless list y’all. This also requires its own section. Again, my fingers people, my fingers. Comment below about any questions about this particular subject. Anyway, run your self a bath, visualize the water filling the tub to be a magical elixir that is going to wash away all the pain, dirt and frustration. Set your intention as you add in all your chosen goodies for your bath. Soak in the water as need. Don’t let your self get too pruny now.

    10. PURGING

Yes, purge. Purge all that crap you’ve been keeping in your closet. Throw away those chipped mugs in the kitchen. Give away old books, furniture and anything that is not serving you. Yes, Marie Kondo that bitch! Purge your life of friends that are just not that nice, purge old habits that you know you gotta let go of. You will be surprised by how the more things you purge the lighter you’ll feel. Do this on the regular.

    Always, set your intention.
